Red face Help about this site.. - August 30th 2009, 02:48 PM

Hey. I kind of feel stupid asking these questions since I feel like every person on here knows the answers except me.

First, what does PM mean? I know its to message someone but what does it stand for?

Second, how do I get the "Welcome me. I'm new!" to go away?

Third, how can I find out when someone answers one of my questions on the support forums. I always have to go back and find my question to see if anyone answered. Can't I get some notification?

Thanks!!

PM means private message.

The more you post in the forums the more stars you get beneath your name. When you get to 2 stars the 'Welcome me I'm new' will be replaced with a different phrase. So because you've only posted 11 forum posts that's why you only have 1 star. Just keep posting and you'll egt to 2 stars soon.

PM stands for Private Message, if the word has a dotted line under it, you can hover your mouse over it and it tells you what it means.

To get "Welcome Me, I'm New" to go away, you need to post more as that changes with the amount of posts you have. I think the next one is at 50 posts.

As for your threads, you can subscribe to them which puts them into your user control panel so you can pop onto that and see if someone has replied and I think you can sent it to send your an email when you get a reply as well. To subscribe to your threads go to thread tools > subscribe. I think, to change the settings it in user control panel > edit options.

Hope this helps

I can't really add anything to this but I just wanted to say if you have any more questions about the site you can use the links in my signature to contact me by VM (visitor message) or PM (private message). I am a buddy here and buddies are here help any new members around the site so if you have any more questions you can ask me or any other buddy (We all have lime green user names).

Welcome Karli!

It looks as though the above posters have got it covered

You may also want to check out the site's Frequently Asked Questions and read up on some of the stuff there, it may be useful to you. Of course, like Rachel has said, there is also the option of PMing any of the buddies whose job it is to help you navigate the site and help you to settle in. I'm going to close this thread now as hopefully the above replies have helped and you can always PM a buddy (someone with a limegreen name) for any extra help you may need. I hope you enjoy your time here!
