One thing that has always interested and keeps coming back at me throughout life is my interest in cults. Whatever it is, a part of me has always wanted to join in.
My whole life I've been alone. My adoptive parents are alright, but my Mom and I seem to fight a lot. I only have a few friends. My biological father run off, never knew my bio mom. A lot of the time I feel like I have nothing. Sometimes I just want to die. I find that when I'm really down, I feel an urge to go out there and try to join a cult. For them to take me in, erase my past, and welcome me as one of their own. More like the cults in the seventies (saw one on 'Cold Case,' where a cult leader led in a teenage guy who's never fit in with his family by offering to be his dad and giving him a new life). For those that have seen The Vampire's Assistant, I'm a lot like Steve in that sense - just instead of asking to become a vampire it would be jumping at the opportunity to join a cult to try to feel like I have a family that completely takes me in. I was just wondering if there's anyone else that's lured to cults and what they promise. A new beginning. A family. Also keep in mind not talking about satanic cults. "Maybe I just like people. Maybe sexuality isn't one thing or the other. Maybe it's just something that's shifting and moving. I just know I'm not thinking man or woman."

Well, I never saw The Vampires Assistant, because I was afraid it would ruin all the books.
(yes, it's a book. There are like. 9 books actually.)I'm not so sure about cults, because I don't actually no much about them. I mean, of course the media makes them look awful and everything, but they do that with Satanism and just about every other 'bad' thing out there. I suggest that if you do decide to join some sort of cult, actually look into it quite a bit. just to make sure you don't go drinking the punch or anything, excuse the totally inappropriate joke. But, I totally get what you mean, feeling kind of alone. It really sucks. =/ Perhaps you could work on finding a closer group of friends though? I mean, they're just 'friends' but I honestly think of my closer friends as my true family instead of my biological family. There are also probably groups or clubs or something nearby where you live, that would probably get you more hits on Google than typing in 'cults near...' I mean, typing in that would in all honesty probably just get you a bunch of media junk. That being said, I don't want to sound like I'm totally against the idea of a cult type thing, because I'm fairly open minded and am well aware that the media tends to make everything worse than they really are... I mean, why would they report on a cult that doesn't kill people? That's just boring.

Well there are plenty to choose from. Also... Just a point. A group isn't a cult and is the same grouping. Maybe find a group that you can adapt to.
