Bank Transfer, help... just need to know wtf is goin on? - May 26th 2010, 08:29 PM

I'm with Halifax bank, in the UK... firstly. So, unless you have the same you won't really know much on what's goin on.

Ive been trying to transfer money from my Halifax account, to my Natwest one. I put the transfer details in yesterday, and it told me it could put the payment through by today. I checked today. The money's not in my Natwest account, or in the Halifax anymore. There are no standing orders left. Usually payments take like 3 days to process, but is said it could do it by the next day.

I've done this before, many times. This has never happened.

I tried phoning them... no one's picking up. Their call centres seem to be completely busy. I called first and waited 1 hour, gave up then. Then I tried calling again, and now it has a message saying their phonelines are jammed with people calling them.

Is somethin fishy going on? Anyone else using Halifax noticed somethin stupid?

Then politics doesn't care about you either. Truth. You've got to make your voice heard, if you want to be listened to. But that's too logical for some people, so let me go a step further. Not making your voice heard, leaves other people free to hijack it by speaking on your behalf, even if they don't actually give a shit about you. That's politics. So, make your voice heard. That's not a quote from anywhere. That's just me.

Some times it takes a day or so. My standing orders to my flatmates leave my account one day and turn up in theirs the next. Its just a pending state. Check tomorrow and visit the bank if its not there.

As far as Im aware its always shown as a standing order, untill the money actually appears in the other account.

Im just a bit worried... 'cos it's not small money. Plus I got a warning security message when I was trying to buy somethin online earlier. I usually get somethin like that, but that one was a bit different. Maybe Im just a bit paranoid now.

well the banks are shut now anyway, so there's not much you can do until tomorrow, as I say mines normally leaves my account and reaches theirs the next day, to allow time for it to be transferred. if its not there early tomorrow, speak to the bank.
