ID Regulations - UK -
September 28th 2011, 07:55 PM
Hi All,
Just started a new job in a shop, I'm really unclear about what to ID for.... Obviously you ask for ID for alchohol/cig's to 18 year olds. And, ID 16 year olds for lottery/scratchcards etc BUT What if someone is only buying filters or rizzlers? Do they need to be ID'd ?! Also, does anyone know of a good website that might list all the rules and stuff like that? (UK) Cheers Guyyyyz
I'm still alive.
Must have been a miracle It's been one hell of a ride Destination still unkown It's a fact of life: If you make one wrong move with a gun to your head You better walk the line or you'll be left for dead. I'm a runaway train on a broken track I'm the ticker on the bomb that you can't turn back Thats right. I got away with it all and I'm still alive. Let the end of the world come tumbling down. I'll be the last man standing on the ground As long as hot blood runs through my veins I'm still alive. |

Yes, ID is needed for the purchase of any smoking products, including Rizla and filters.
I only know this because I always used to get asked when I smoked and at first I was all .As for a website which lists the regulations, I suggest typing stuff into Google, as I don't know any websites off the top of my head. However, I feel I should point out that as you have just started a job, your employer should know of and be providing you with this sort of information.

Just a heads up, you also need to ID anyone buying: lighter fluid, knives, aerosols including deoderant and even the compressed air people clean keyboards with, and solvent glue ... I'm pretty sure there's others but I can't remember them all.
This website has useful lists, it also lists the specific trading standards rules where you live by postcode: http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/a...restricted.cfm Hope that helps ![]() Also remember what IDs you can accept, like driving license & provisionals, passport or government issued ID cards - student cards etc do not count ![]() (I know it says I live in Aus, but I grew up in London ... not just trawling the internet I do have experience checking IDs ...) You can't move mountains by whispering at them. Take a look at my art here: http://attemptedart.tumblr.com/ |
