Does anyone else keep "Hope things?" - March 9th 2012, 09:59 AM

So I have two hope-related things, and a third is a kind of ritual of mine haha.
The first one is a locket I filled with tiny pieces of paper with hopeful sayings on them so that hopefully if I'm feeling down, I'll look at it and feel better.
The second is a little journal notebook thing I have that I fill with song lyrics that help me, hopeful sayings, things like that. I also plan on keeping a couple hotline numbers in there so that if I ever need help, I can look in the book and call one of the numbers.
The ritual of mine is that almost every day I keep a little sticky note with some lines from this one song that's helped me a lot. I do that so I can feel better.
Anyone do anything similar to these?

Yeah, I make origami stars, I write Hope things and wishes on the strip before hand, then I keep them in a jar or thread them on string
Origami stars tutorial here: http://www.origami-fun.com/origami-lucky-star.html

However, I write BAD THINGS AND WORRIES on paper, then rip it up and scatter the bits in the wind or sea. Once I wrote a letter to someone, and burnt it and scattered the ashes.

All I have is a worry stone that I carry everywhere. I'm going to have to start doing something like this.

Actually, mine is carrying around my ipod. I don't know why, it just is... But if I'm feeling down, I play this video game, and it calms me, or I listen to some songs, mostly they just make me feel like someone understands. I don't ever really write anything good about myself, but I write the bad as poetry, and then it feels like it's not so bad. (I even have said poetry online...)

I've said it once, I've said it twice, I've said it a thousand fucking times
That I'm OK, that I'm fine, that it's all just in my mind
But this has got the best of me, and I can't seem to sleep
It's not 'cause you're not with me, it's cause you never leave

Yeah, I do.

I have a small moleskin notebook which has my bucket list and a large collection of inspirational quotes, notes and other handy little writings. It comes with me everywhere, and when shit gets stupid I can pull it out and have a quick read.

Yeah I do have Hope things.
I got a journal where I write optimistic lyrics/quotes and also stick memorable photographs. I feel really positive when I read my journal cuz it reminds me of all the good times.

I have a purple-ish, clear stone that says "HOPE" on it. It was my mom's. They gave it to her when she went through chemo. treatment. So I carry it with me.

I have a scrap book which holds photos, receipts, notes, memories from times which mean a lot to me...I should really start putting my poetry and writing in it too.

I have a journal that I frequently write in. It's full of both good and bad memories, and it makes me feel calm when I'm writing.

This next one is a bit cheesy and gooey, but I have a locket that I always wear, I only take it off to get in the shower. Inside there are two pictures, one of my boyfriend and one of us together. I know it's lovey dovey and cheesy, but when I'm feeling down I like to open it and look at the pictures. After I close it sometimes I hold it close to my heart. It really comforts me when I'm upset.

I have a key-chain that has a photo of my fiance and I together on it. I carry it with me pretty much everywhere. We are long distance right now, so sometimes I pull it out when I'm feeling stressed or down and think about how happy he makes me. (Cheesy, I know)

I do. I have a bunch of little figurines in my room that say "hope", "believe", "peace", etc. I have tattoos on my wrist (hope & believe), I have a notebook with inspirational quotes/ poems, and I think that's it. I think I'll be taking some ideas from this thread.
