Things get better, i promise! - December 15th 2011, 12:32 AM

well hey everyone!
I just want to say that things have been going smootly over the past couple of weeks. I just wanted to post this, that there IS hope and that things get better, about a year ago things were pretty bad for me i was self harming, having suicidal thoughts, being reckless, taking overdoses to try and kill myself. I never though tings would get better but they did, i won't lie things will be hard and you may slip up from time to time but things get better. I go to college now and start my new job soon (something i thought i'd never have). So just take it easy and make sure you jave supportive people that can help you, and remeber talking to people helps!
Be safe everyone!

What a wonderful post to read! I'm so glad that things have been getting better for you and that you've been inspired to share your successes with others - I know your positive experiences will be a motivation for many. (:

You're right, slip ups do happen, but they certainly don't undermine progress in any way, shape, or form. Congratulations on your new job and on all of the wonderful things happening in your life, and I hope that things will continue to improve for you!

I'm going to move this thread to Recovery Stories where it will be read with some of the other wonderful recovery-focused threads on TeenHelp. Thanks again for sharing!
