Confined to my room - June 17th 2016, 06:28 PM

I'm stuck in my room all day. I don't have a job, I don't have money, I don't have a car to go anywhere. I haven't left my bedroom in two weeks. I'm so depressed.
I hate living where I do because it's a "rich" suburb and everyone is always out spending their stupid money and having a good time. Here I am alone in my room because I'm poor. I hate existing like this. I want to LIVE. But there's absolutely no way that I can go do anything so I'm forced to sit in my room 24/7

Are you confined to just your room or can you spend time in other rooms, such as a living room or family room? Do you have a backyard you could spend time in? Not having transportation or money can be incredibly hard, but even just changing the room you're in can make a difference. Natural light can also make quite a difference, try sitting outside or if you keep your room dark open curtains or blinds. Could you try to get a job? Maybe take public transportation (if you have it near you). Or see if there's any jobs you could do for neighbors, like mowing laws or babysitting.

Yeah I can spend time in the living room, and the kitchen especially since I like to cook.. but my family keeps the TV on all the time and it's loud, so it bothers me. I can't go outside because I live in an apartment building on a busy main road, and there's construction going on basically on every corner, and even right beside my building. I live in a very noisy suburban environment so it's very difficult for me to relax. I'm super stressed out because of the constant noise I've been trying to get a job so I'm holding out hope for that.

I'm sorry to learn that you live in a noisy area. As someone who's very sensitive to noise, I understand how stressful it can be.

Have you tried putting earphones in and listening to calming music? Sometimes it's possible to zone out for a while. If you're feeling adventurous, you could even listen to a guided meditation exercise. (I keep meaning to do that.)

Are there not any parks or other open spaces in the area? Even if you had to travel for a bit, it would be worth it once you were there.

Good luck with the job application process.

Be kind to yourself.
