Fractured my foot - December 21st 2016, 10:37 PM

I usually walk barefoot around the house. And I was trying to print something. And it wouldn't print. So I lost my shit and kicked the printer.

Hurts like shit but actually feels good. I don't know for sure if I fractured my foot. Definitely bruised.

It wasn't my printer though. And that's the problem. When I pick and pay for my own electronics, and plug them into one another they work 99% of the time. I try to make sure they do before I even buy them. But my stepdad loves nothing more than buying the cheapest shit he possibly can, which sometimes is so old it isn't even supported by the manufacturer anymore. Then he brags about the 10 he saved, when he spent 3 hours on the internet looking for the cheaper option. Even at minimum wage per hour, that still wouldn't pay for itself (10 - 3 x 7 = -11).

None of that shit "saves money" if it wastes 10x the time. And on top of that, he actually enjoys spending even tens of hours a week playing around with this shit, reading manuals, installing all sorts of background operating environments to run old software on. I don't know if he "enjoys" it as such (he swears at it even more than I do), but if he doesn't enjoy then why the fuck does he buy this shit in the first place? He can afford better I can, that's certain. He literally dragged a CRT computer monitor out of a dumpster few years ago when he saw one, then asked me to carry it because it was too heavy. Something mentally not right about that.

He doesn't seem to understand most people don't give a fuck about messing around with these things. Most people just want it to work. I just spent 2 hours trying to figure this shit out to print ONE
A4 sheet of paper. 2 fucking hours, before I lost it. It literally would have taken me less time to get on the bus, go to town, print it at my university, then come back by bus. That would take about 1.5 hours.

For fucks sake. I've been wanting to smash that piece of junk for a long time now. I've been avoiding it in the house like a pile of shit for years. Only today my own printer starting acting up so I decided to take my chances. We're selling the house, so we will probably be getting rid of such junk anyway.

My only regret is that I didn't also punch it. What a piece of shit.

"I don't care about politics"
Then politics doesn't care about you either. Truth. You've got to make your voice heard, if you want to be listened to. But that's too logical for some people, so let me go a step further. Not making your voice heard, leaves other people free to hijack it by speaking on your behalf, even if they don't actually give a shit about you. That's politics. So, make your voice heard. That's not a quote from anywhere. That's just me.
