People being shallow minded - June 11th 2009, 10:28 AM

I hate being different! People judge me at school because I don't speak, I prefer being alone, I draw drawings that can be seen as disturbing a tad and they keep asking when I'm going to top myself. Mum told the people that she thinks are my 'friends' that I SH and now they keep wanting to see my legs!
I thought I blocked everything and I thought I could take it because I felt so god damn numb but this one girl pushed my limits yesterday so I retaliated. I know fighting fire with fire gets you nowhere but I lost control. I was being accused of things that I didn't even know about. Now I'm even more despised at school and known as the 'emo bitch'.

Shallow minded people are my worst fear.
I'm the emo in my class, even though I look nothing like one. I prefer being away from other girls, too. No one has really ever tried to get to know me, because the first week of highschool, rumors went around that I was gay because I didn't have a boyfriend. How's that for shallow?

My drawings aren't of 'cute' things, either. Mostly of fierce-looking animals. I hide those drawings away from everyone- they're good, but everyone else prefers 'cute' drawings. (Even though they don't hold a candle to mine!)

Why did your mom think those people were your friends, anyway? My mom's the same way- everytime I mention a person's name, she thinks I'm best friends with them or something.

Fierce animals?.. I might like to see them sometime

They were friends from primary but as soon as we hit secondary I started changing and becoming 'different'. Y'know the kind where you become invisible and a reject to rest of the world? Since she thought I was still 'friends' with them she thought that they could help/support me, turns out they do the complete opposite.

What you need to keep in mind is that yes this is all hellish now, but once you leave school these people are going to feel terrible for what they're doing to you now. Trust me. Try to think about the fact that it will most likley bother them for many years into their adult lives. You sound alot like me when I was at school and the tables have turned for me as they do for most people that go through this situation.

Does your mom know the mistake she's made? If not then you NEED to tell her, i'm actually guessing that you've already confronted her about it, but I like to mention everything just to make sure. Ofcourse that was a pretty terrible thing for your mom to do in all honesty, seeing as it wasnt her personal problem to tell to anyone else and ofcourse it's done alot more damage than good. Ofcourse telling her that you need to deal with things just within the family is important for you to do too.

Reacting to people's taunts is just what they want, i've delt with countless people like that. The only reason they do it is for the reaction, so trying as hard as you can to pretend they dont exist and that you cant hear it will help in time. I know that's easier said than done. =[

If you need to rant or want to speak to anyone...i'm just a PM away.

Hey, I'd probably be one of the girls that liked you. Watching was you draw and everything. Lol. It's okay to be different.

School told mum because I was a danger to myself which is understandable I guess but I just can't explain what she's done to me. If she passes them on the street, she'll ask how I am and they'll act like we're all the best of friends. The good thing is I get till the 22nd to relax before I have to sit through it all again. I know I just have under a year left before I'm completely done with school but should I just try and be 'normal' to avoid all this?
Haha, Holly you might have to peak over my shoulder when I'm not looking, I freak out when people watch me draw.
