Why Me? Here is a safe space to let it all out, where you can rant about all the bad things life throws your way. Sometimes it just helps to ask "why me?"

My teachers suck. - March 12th 2011, 03:14 PM

Today I found out I scored a nice clean 55% on a science test I studied like crazy for. My pretests and basic work was all in the 95% average. The reason was that on page five of the test I started writing question 30 on the line for question 31. Therefore all answers for the next few pages were wrong. Could they cut me a break? Never would they dream of it. Luckily it's only eight grade (And not a screw up that will affect my college chances, because tests are worth 65% of our final grades) but I mean frick, my chances of having a all A report card was shot to hell. I can't wait until I tell my parents, because no matter the excuse, terrible grades mean terrible effort to them.

Gah, that sucks! Have you tried (calmly) asking your teacher if you can meet with him/her after class to discuss your test? Maybe your teacher just wasn't paying attention while grading, and didn't notice that you skipped a question, therefore forcing all the following answers to be wrong. It was an honest mistake on your part, and hopefully, the teacher will be reasonable and re-grade your exam once you show him/her what happened.

Already tried. She's one mean teacher and claimed "You shouldn't have even had time to answer all the questions. Yet you finished them with time to spare. You should have went slower"
But if I shouldn't have time to answer them all, doesn't that mean it's impossible to get a perfect grade?
Idiot teacher.

That is extremely strange... maybe grab some buddies in that class and all go have a talk with her? Maybe talk with parents? What teacher makes a test that you cannot finish?
I'm glad you tried to talk to her.

Well I’ve lost it all, I’m just a silhouette,

I agree. That is a very, VERY strange mentality for a teacher to have. Well, okay, maybe not a professor in college... but in middle/high school, there's no way a test should be set up that way.

I would set up a parent/teacher conference... maybe even talk to a school administrator beforehand and explain the situation. There are two things I'd like to emphasize: 1) ALWAYS have your parents present when talking about this issue with your teacher and administrators from this point on, and 2) REMAIN CALM. You don't want to get ganged up on or screwed any further by the system, hence the reason for having your parents present at all times. You also don't want to come across as a volatile, vengeful student, hence the need to stay calm no matter how much of an idiot this teacher may be.

I agree that this is a strange way for a middle school teacher to act. I think talking to your parents about this and see if they can set up a conference would be a good idea. Remember to stay calm bad things always get said or done in times of anger.

Goodluck!
