Craziest Night Ever.

I have a really big family and a big chunk of them are Mexican. I didn't really grow up around that part of my family, but within the past couple years I've noticed some tension there. Tonight, I found out where a lot of it stemmed from. I'm not allowed to tell anyone around me, but I need a place to share all this. It's going to eat me up inside if I keep it in.

My grandma and my aunt don't get along at all. I grew up hating my aunt because of the things my grandma had to say. Tonight, I heard her side of the story. My aunt adored my grandpa. One day, she walked in on my grandma cheating on my grandpa with his brother. My grandma knew she had been caught, so she made my aunt's life a living hell to keep her from telling. Naturally, my aunt left as soon as she got the chance. I can't look at my grandma or my uncle the same anymore.

As if that's not enough, I heard a heartbreaking story about my cousin tonight. He was forced into a gang and he became their bitch. They tattooed his face and body and made him their slave. He's out of that life now and he's working so hard to clean himself up. He's even going in twice a month to take more steps in the process of getting his tattoos removed. One of my other cousins had never met him before tonight. The first thing she did when she saw him was ask "what the fuck" he did to his face. There were a lot of other swear words in there too. He was really hurt. He's so self-conscious about it because it wasn't his choice. We all started yelling at her after he left. I don't think I've ever seen her be that quiet before. There was just so much drama.

But wait, there's more. I have another cousin that lives in Germany. Last night, he went to a club with his girlfriend. They were standing by the wall talking when a random drunk guy went up to him and smashed a glass in his face. He's in the hospital right now. He had to get a lot of stitches because his face is so cut up. There's a lot of damage that was done to one of his ears too.

If you read all of this, all I can say is wow. I kind of turned my family drama into a mini-essay. I'm glad I have this safe haven where I can let all these things out that are gnawing at me. There's actually a lot more that happened tonight that I didn't put here. I just need to be reminded that there's some sanity in the world right now.

Oh, okay. It's definitely much easier to share these things on TH, since I know you'll never actually meet my family. It doesn't really matter to me if anyone reads this or not. I just needed to get it all off my chest.
