Always the friend, never the girlfriend. - October 19th 2011, 12:14 AM

I keep meeting all these great guys and we really connect, some i even kissed! Next thing i know they're pouring their heart out to me about the girl they're interested in, asking me for advice. Why does no one like me? The either never have or they like me until someone prettier comes along, one guy i got really close to, he told people he liked me, we kissed etc, two days later he only likes me as a friend and now likes someone else.

I've never had a proper relationship, in the past i was the girl guys used to cheat on their girlfriends with, thankfully i don't do that now. Now im the girl that has a laugh with them, listens to them and while i appreciate that they want my advice the same time i'm thinking am i forever to be stuck in the friend zone? I would love to have a nice boyfriend that i could hold hands with, watch a film, go for walks.

I'm not a girly girl like i used to be but i'm not a tomboy either, i do my hair everyday, i put make up on everyday and when im going out i do dress girly. The guys at my college i have EVERYTHING in common with, music, films, tv shows even comics and websites etc. but yet they want the pretty girl that likes Rihanna and Gossip Girl?

In the future it's most likely to be that someone is just gonna settle for me when the pretty girl leaves them.

Edit: The guy i liked just asked me if the girl he likes could stay at the college in my room for halloween so she can stay over. Slap in the face much?

Would be nice if someone shared their thoughts on this.. :/

I used to deal with this a lot, so I feel your pain. Sometimes I think guys get TOO comfortable with us & just think of us as one of their pals, but a pal they can hit on when they're bored. Maybe next time you think you might be getting close to a guy, you can start the conversation about relationships earlier to figure out if you're both on the same page or if he's being lame about it. Just keep in mind that these jerks aren't worth the time or trouble if they lose interest that fast. You deserve someone who will love you for a long time & actually wants to be with you.

To be honest you sound really awesome. You're not focused on being masculine so you can call yourself a "Tomboy" nor or do you force yourself to conform to societies standard of being a "woman". To be honest I would date you in a heartbeat. :P

I wouldn't worry about it, eventually someone will apreciate you. I swear to God.
