Always the bad news

Just when I think things are starting to look, they start to tumble again.

I just got word that my beloved pet (really belonging to my boyfriend's parents, but she's like mine anyway) has Grade 2 cancer.

There isn't much they can do now. She had a tumor removed from her leg last week, and they sent it away to be tested, and this is the news we received. She's not even 6 years old, and many not live to see many more birthday's. They have 3 options, but none of them seem to be the right one:

1. Do nothing.
2. Administer low doses of Prednisone, but if the cancer came back which it most likely would since it's already Grade 2, the Prednisone would do absolutely nothing to help her.
3. Do radiation therapy for 4 weeks, 5 times a day, but the approximate cost would be $5000.

The last isn't an option. They can barely make their mortgage payments now, and pay their bills.

I simply don't know what to do, and now I'm dreading my boyfriend coming home and telling him about it.

Hey Shannon,
I'm really sorry to hear about your pet. I imagine it's a difficult situation to be in, and I hope they're able to come to a decision on what option they'll go with. If you're having a hard time try talking about it with your boyfriend or someone else who can support you.
