people's views make me sad or angry

More specifically, views on homosexuality.

Now I'm not sure where to start but I'll try to make it clear as to what I want to say.

It started yesterday and this guy said he doesn't like homosexuality but he doesn't dislike gay people... that made as much sense as wearing a mermaid suit to play basketball. He's basically gone on a tangent saying that I'm stupid, I'm not a true catholic blah blah blah.

Now the fact he said I'm not a true catholic didn't annoy me because its true, I don't follow the bible 100% as I think that's impossible.

I just found his reasoning stupid. Gay people are no less human than me or you... they have different preferences, why on earth should I care? Why should I go out of my way to dislike them?

So then the argument continued today and it involved more religious people and I was rather disgusted by it. I wasn't expecting such an uproar against them. They used such justifications about how God killed a bunch of people for sodomy blah blah blah and its quite frankly stupid. If God is omnipotent then why did he create them, if he's omnibenevolent why does he supposedly hate them? Should he forgive them? Actually they've committed no sin so he has nothing to forgive. That's my view anyway.

Then this fool argues that if they.'act gay' he has more reason to dislike them? No no no 'camp' was his word I apologise... and if a straight person did so what would his reaction be then?

I admit everyone is entitled to their own views but expecting me to accept them all the time is rather stupid. People who follow the bible 100% for the most part tend to be thinking backwards. Times are changing, you can still be religious without being an asshole. It's possible, they should try it sometime. Hypocrisy is not something they notice is lurking in their argument.

It's intriguing... human stupidity seems to be infinite.
