It's supposed to be Christmas! - December 24th 2011, 10:05 PM

I'm so tired of everything. I've been looking forward to winter break for a long time because I basically hate school except one class. My Spanish teacher hates me (even though I've always been a good student) and my grades have been dropping lately. My friends don't believe my teacher hates me and I keep getting so much homework in comparison to everyone else. I can't focus on anyhting anymore. I thought being out of school would make things better but being home seems to be like living in hell. All my family does right now is fight. Even tonight which is Christmas Eve and I have no reason tomorrow will be any better. Every thing I say and do or don't do is always wrong. This among other things has really made my depression worse and I just don't know what to do anymore. I hate life.

Hey there,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having a rough time right now. When families fight, it can be really stressful for everyone. It sounds to me like everything is kind of just piling up and it's really difficult for you to deal with. I think the best thing to do while you're on break from school would be to just talk to a friend (or family member) about what you're going through. It's a lot easier to get through things when there's someone there to help support you.

When you're back in school, I suggest making an appointment to see the guidance counselor. They're there to help you! They're professionals who can give you good advice and guidance on how to deal with certain situations that you're having difficulties with. You can choose how much you want to say, and if you go and you find it's not for you, then you don't have to go back.

And if you really need someone to talk to and you don't know who to turn to, there's always the helplines.
