I HATE where I live. -

I live in a small village in South Wales. Our population is around 1,400 (according to wikipedia), possibly less. Everyone knows everybody else and you can't sneeze without it being public knowledge. The majority of people here are racist idiots. I remember when this guy lived here from Gambia (west Africa) he was possibly the only black man here. I remember him walking in the pub I used to work in and everyone went silent and stared at him
 just because he was black. I swear some of them never seen a black person in their life -____-If you lose weight there will be rumours going around that you're on drugs/have an eating disorder. My sister lost some weight recently (she isn't overly thin but thinner than she used to be) and there's all rumours she has bulimia -____- Everyone expects everyone else to be fat and if you're not there's something wrong with you. I went to Cardiff a couple of weeks ago with my friend who also lives here and she said "isn't it weird to see people driving at night" of course it's not :| it should be weirder not to see cars driving at night. It's not normal here >____< I may as well be living in the 1920s. I'm just stuck in this bubble. There's nothing to do here, except maybe walking t the shop -____- that's all I do when I'm stuck here. I think this is why I go online so much and talk to people online. I get more sanity.  |

God, I know what you mean. My town's not as isolated as yours (we live near one of the bigger cities in BC) but it's got a population of around 5,000 people and everyone knows everyone. It's completely infuriating. And I don't know what it is with small town and close-minded people but it just seems to attract them. If it's any consolation, I feel your pain. >.>

Thanks <33 I think it may be because since it is so small and secluded there's not that many people from other places coming here.
LOL I remember when I friend come to visit me (he lives in a town a few miles away), he went to the shop to buy cigarettes, instead of the man asking "have you got I.D.?" he said "I don't know you" lolwut?

Beautiful. I know, my mum knows all the pharmacists and everyone who works at the grocery store personally. People who I don't know seem to know who I am and all my business. It gets to a point where you almost feel violated. >.>
