uhhh, why is this happening to me - January 12th 2012, 01:51 AM

This really depressed me. 2012 was going to be a different year for me. i got my grades from uni last semester today. I got 2 F's. I dont know how its possible when i did so good in the exam. i was so confident that i was aiming at A's and B's. i pass all the course work and still and a F. This is my first year at uni and it makes me feel like giving up already. Can some give me some words of encouragement? thanks alot

Hey there,
Sorry to hear about your marks. I would probably look into the breakdown of your marks. If it doesn't make sense, go through the assignments, exam marks, etc. And schedule an appointment with your prof or shoot them an email. You never know...sometimes they make a mistake! I know it happened to me one time, and I was able to get it fixed up.

But hey, it's your first year. It can be difficult to transition into university. Don't let the marks get you down. I know you probably worked pretty hard to get through the last semester. I'd suggest changing up and improving on how you do your school work. For instance, maybe getting more feedback from profs before an assignment is due, finding a new way to study for exams, utilizing campus resources (ex. tutoring if you need it). Just a few suggestions!

Definitely don't give up. It's a new year, new semester. If you work on what didn't work for you last semester, then this semester should go well for you. Just keep working hard, and don't forget to leave time for you. Good luck!

Take care. :]
