Non-PG13 (Strong Language): A rant about why I'm disgusted with society.

So I'm usually an incredibly passive person, but there's one thing that really sickens me and causes me to lose my 'cool'.
Lately, there's been a lot of conversation amongst my peers and I regarding the larger problems in this world, practically anything that is morally wrong and is (unfortunately) more often than not dealt with inadequately by the justice system.
I, more often than my friends, make a huge deal out of things such as rape, torture, child/ animal abuse, etc, and am often told to 'calm the fuck down' because it's just 'how life is' and there's 'nothing anyone can do about it.
This is my response to that particular mentality;
I've officially had it.
I am so fucking sick of hearing people say things along the lines of 'Just accept the world how it is, yeah, it's fucked up, but you can't do anything about it.'
GUESS WHAT, you ignorant jack asses, just because YOU don't care enough to try and make a difference does not mean everyone else possesses the same damaging mentality.
Unlike all of you, although we may not be able to change the world on that large of a scale, some of us DO possess the persevering characteristics required to dedicate our lives towards TRYING.
In my opinion, people who think along the lines of 'I can't make a difference, so why give a shit?' are EQUALLY as harmful to society as the the criminals and wack jobs who are making this world a horrible place. And I'm not referring to the people who are just 'chill', but the ones who actually have the nerve to try and put me down because I am compassionate enough, and I DO actually feel I may be able to make some sort of a impact on this corrupt world, even if that is only by being a criminal prosecutor.

I agree. Even if it is a small impact, an impact IS an impact. I think that we would be in at least slightly a better place right now if people stopped thinking with the "it can't be changed, just deal with it" mentality. There would be such a big impact if people would start caring once in a while and try to do something, even if it is a small something. Multiple voices can be stronger than one.

Dez is right. We all have the capacity to make an impact. Every little bit helps. Every hug or pat on the back to someone that's upset, every meal given to someone that's hungry, every criminal that lands behind bars, every listening ear given to someone in need of support, every last shred of positive energy in this world HELPS. And I'll be damned if I'm going to spend my life doing anything other than helping other people.
