Today was suppose to be amazing.
I was promised the world, no, a chance of a lifetime. Do you know how many people can say "Hey, I talked to a astrounaut in space from my high school gym?" No. Not many. There were 20 students picked to ask 20 questions in 20 minutes. I was number 19. We found out that morning that there was only 10 minutes. They never should have put so many questions in. They knew that people would leave disapointed. They only got to person number 15 before we got cut off. I felt like crying. This had meant so much to me, since the moment I heard there was a possibility of it. I wanted it. I wanted to stand there, for the world to hear, and ask my question. I wanted, so badly, to hear his opinion. I never got to. I'm not alone, but... It felt hurtful. My school promises so much, but most of it gets crapified because of communication problems. Even I know putting 20 kids with a question each into 20 minutes is a big HELL NO. </3 My principal cares more about dropping a name then he does about this. He sucks. I know I shouldn't blame him, but it's true. In his opening speach he talked about other things, about how the Queen visited, about how we had important people in our gym, at that moment. That's dropping a name, he should have cared more about the kids who were promised something that they knew they couldn't give. In a world filled with diversity, I am just another oddity.

I'm sorry to hear that. =( I can understand why you are so disappointed and frustrated! Do you know the astronaut's full name? Perhaps you could write him/her a letter or e-mail, starting the message with, "You were at my school's gym the other day, and I was one of the students who didn't have the opportunity to ask you my question due to time constraints. I was hoping you would be able to find time in your busy schedule to write back." Then ask your question, say whatever it was you wanted to say, and hope for the best!
