What's the Deal with Those Impossible-to-Read Font Styles? - February 23rd 2011, 01:22 AM

I cannot read people's mind; I suck at guessing what people think. They are who they are and I am who I am. I understand that.

But honestly, what on earth are they thinking?

Did they actually think microscopic fonts are easy to read?
(Something like these: You really think this is cute/pretty/manly/nice/whatever?
Or worse: You really think this is cute/pretty/manly/nice/whatever?)

Did they actually think bright font on bright background (or vise versa) is easy to read?
(Something like these: You really think this is cute/pretty/manly/nice/whatever?
Or worse: You really think this is cute/pretty/manly/nice/whatever?)

Someone please enlighten me

The bright fonts kill my eyes, seriously. But I tend to like smaller fonts to be completely honest...

Mine's actually pretty small. And it's gray. So I'm guessing I'm the epitome of what you're talking about. I would make my font bigger, but then it would be the same size as the font in my signature. And that just won't do.

I can read yours just fine.

It's the bright, bright colors that really annoy me. And it's mostly profiles that I can't read. I don't understand why people mix pink, yellow, orange, and other florescent colors together. How am I supposed to stalk people if I can't read their profiles?!

I swear, some people must be colorblind though. When people use florescent colors on websites and profiles really pain my eyes.

I can't tell you how many forums I've closed the tab to simply because I couldn't read the site due to its colors.

As someone with vision issues I couldn't agree more. Half the time I have to highlight a post just so it shows up a different color so I can read it. I've also been known to search for a way to adjust the font size of posts.

Oh my gosh, I totally agree. It's bothersome.

The bright colors do bother me a bit. I usually will just highlight that font and then I can read it. I don't have any problem with the small font though.

Oh Godddd, that and people who just write huge blocks of font without paragraphs are the two things that make me go 'ughhhh' and exit the thread. Sorry if that's a bit bitchy...but it's true. :/

Bad font = I won't read it. It sounds horrible but it's mostly because it's either really big or some bright colour that isn't so easy on the eyes and it makes reading it a bit of a pain.

I have to completely agree with you, Rod. I have vision problems so the really small font makes it difficult for me read and the neon colors are just too bright so I usually don't even try to read them.

I suppose I can't really talk, what with my tiny font I wanted to personalise my posts but I suppose there's no harm in making the font bigger.

Re: What's the Deal with Those Impossible-to-Read Font Styles? - March 13th 2011, 03:12 PM

WAY TO FIX: (With bright colours)... just highlight the text before reading it. Then you get white text on dark blue background.

"I don't care about politics"
Then politics doesn't care about you either. Truth. You've got to make your voice heard, if you want to be listened to. But that's too logical for some people, so let me go a step further. Not making your voice heard, leaves other people free to hijack it by speaking on your behalf, even if they don't actually give a shit about you. That's politics. So, make your voice heard. That's not a quote from anywhere. That's just me.

I agree. And I also feel the same about something written completely in caps or else bold with a huge font size.
