5am cant sleep -

Enduring down the bleak dark frozen road, gliding through each bend, dip and crack seemingly like an ice skater over glass, long thick cold iron muscle seemingly flexing into every curve, headlights beaming, the ominous vehicle navigates though the lonely forgotten hillside. Heavy rain collides jumping, pooling, and draining down the slipstreams across windows like tiny vein like rivers of blood. Speedily thrusting onwards, pressed down against the gravel road, much like a bullet cutting its own track though the mountain side, effortless and elegant seamless movement, the engine gently purring to its tiny driver, who was silent all but a steady heartbeat being at one taming his iron beast.
Suddenly the dark gives way to a splattering of morning light. Our tiny driver’s heart beating steadily more rapid, tears forming on the corners of his weathered narrow eyes, imminently rolling down his cheeks like the rains outside. Ahead the morning lights grow stronger. Rain beginning to ease and then suddenly gone. There was eeriness in the way the clouds had seemingly dissipated. Across the skies the stars themselves seemed to fall. Down like a showers of dust.
Finally our tiny driver makes a sudden jerk of his wheel. Quickly wheels lock, jump and lose the road and the once elegant iron muscle starts ungracefully spinning from the road. The long length of iron screeches as the rubber wheels go sideways dragging along the ground, marking their path. The engine stalls and the whole thing pulls up only feet from a large pine tree trunk jutting out near the only bend of the road. In one breath the driver gets out and falls to his knees gazing into the deep morning sky.16 June 2010
