what you were almost named - July 6th 2016, 10:18 AM

comment down below what you were almost named. the names that your parents wanted to give you but didn't and even why, if you want

ill start:

my mum wanted to name me amber crystal but her friend stole both names for her daughter after she heard that, she was planning to name me briony, which is pronounced brian-ee

im rather glad they didn't give me that name because it sounds like some sort of fancy indian curry dish or have people call me brian for short heck no!

how about you, do you know?

Cool thread
My older sister really REALLY wanted me to be named "Beverly". Lol. I am not sure the names my mother and father had in mind for me but my father told me once that he wanted the name that is now my middle name (Nicolette) to have been my first name.

I was supposed to be Kevin. They had the revealing ultrasound, decorated a blue nursery and then...
Surprise! I'm a girl.
Turns out the imaging back then wasn't perfect

My mother says she wanted to name me Rebecka Michelle and my dad ultimately chose my birth name, but I am now Oliver.

I do't think they had any other name besides mine because I'm named after someone.

If I were a boy I would've been Paul after my mom's uncle, but I was a girl so they named me after my great grandmother instead. My dad also liked the name Amy (which I honestly like better), I don't know why they didn't use it.

They almost named me Blanca (pronounced like blahn-ka, it's spanish) but they thought people in the US would pronounce it blank-uh. I don't think it really would've been a problem, and i really like Blanca, but oh well.

Catherine and if I had been a boy they were thinking about Tim. I like my name better than those two though.

I was going to be called Wesley or Klaus. Klaus after my grandfather and Wesley juts because my mom liked it. Eventually it was decided I'd be called Reilly.

I was going to be a Rachel but there were already a couple people on my dad's side named that. I like Nicole better.
My mom has joked that she was going to name me Lola awhile back because my last name has a lot of L's in it. I don't think she was serious but that would have been fun to say.

Re: what you were almost named - July 7th 2016, 09:07 PM

My mum wanted to call me Lydia (which is now my younger sister's name) but my dad wasn't keen on the name at the time. Another possible choice was Georgiana or, if I had been a boy, Jacob.

I was also nearly called Sarah-Louise, but my parents decided to just call me Sarah and make Louise my middle name.

My dad wanted to name me Melba but I ended up with something different. And if I would have been a boy my name would have been Christian.

Resilient
1. (of a person or animal) able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions.
2. (of a substance or object) able to recoil or spring back into shape after bending, stretching, or being compressed.

We all possess resilience, we just need to realize it.
