So, my dad forgot. Seriously? I turned 18 today. How do you forget that?! I was going to go out to dinner, but my cousins invited themselves over. Then, my grandparents showed up. I thought that was okay, but they started ignoring me. My cousin Rose started a conversation with my grandma, who she hates. My cousin Phil started talking to my grandma's husband and my dad. I just sat there for a while. My mom refused to make my favorite thing for dinner, even though it's my birthday. A lot of my friends seem to have forgotten. One of my best friends came over today to borrow money and didn't say a word. I'm used to feeling unloved by my family, but treating me like that on my birthday is a little over the top. At least I think it is.
Anyways, I really just needed to rant about this crappy birthday. Happy Freakin' Birthday To Me.

Oh Sammi, I'm so sorry! I hope chat today was a bit of a party, and cheered you up a bit. But it's a big deal that you're turning eighteen, and we're here for you!

Happy Birthday Sammi!!
I'm sorry your birthday didn't turn out as you had hoped. But that's just how it goes - sometimes. My mom and dad handed me a birthday card with $100 in it for my 17th birthday. They gave me that birthday present on August 27th. Great! Right? Well....... not really. My birthday has always been July 27th. Like I said... that's just how it goes sometimes. Try not to take the forgetfulness of others - or even the insensitivity of others - personally. Your value as a person is NOT dependent upon what other people say - OR DO!.
