Thoughts about the President of Afgahnistan? - November 3rd 2009, 03:38 PM

If you watch the news you have probably heard of the re-election of Afghani president Karzai, there was supposed to be a run off election between him and his opponent, Abdullah Abdullah, but Abdullah withdrew from the race citing that a fair election would be impossible. Iw as jsut wondering what people's thoughts are on the topic.

I want a moment to be real
Want to touch things I don't feel
Want to hold on, and feel I belong
And how can the world want me to change?
They're the ones that stay the same
They don't know me, but I'm still here

Of course its already corrupt, and this puts the United States in a difficult position. The fact that the opponent cited the impossibility of a fair race as his reason, plus the oppressive way that Afghanistan is run. It is a hard call on what the United States should do.

The UN pumped millions (billions?) to get a fair election but 1. people didn't care to vote, 2. a lot of votes misplaced due to the disorganized election, 3. corrupt government. meh, for essentially nothing.
