R.I.P. Howard Zinn - January 28th 2010, 05:03 AM

Howard Zinn, American intellectual, historian, activists and writer of "A People's History of the United States", is dead. Hopefully some of you have something to say about him.

the "pants on the ground" thread has more replies than this one.......amazing.

I guess I forgot that Zinn never wrote a book about abusive, manipulative vampires and the feeble-minded women who love them. pick up a real book, all of you.

Why are you getting upset? So no one has commented in this thread, okay... No need to be bothered by it. It's a sad thing to hear, yes. And I send my condolences to his family.

I'll be honest, I have no idea who he was. And being not much a connoisseur of American history, I'm not too bothered by that. Still, it's always sad to hear that a great mind has died.

That said, I've personally found that TeenHelp is generally one of the best places on the internet to find intelligent, friendly discussion on almost any topic. You may have the former down, but you're lacking a little on the latter. In your words: "pick up some real manners."

The atoms that make up you and me were born in the hearts of suns many times greater than ours, and in time our atoms will once again reside amongst the stars. Life is but an idle dalliance of the cosmos, frail, and soon forgotten. We have been set adrift in an ocean whose tides we are only beginning to comprehend and with that maturity has come the realization that we are, at least for now, alone. In that loneliness, it falls to us to shine as brightly as the stars from which we came.

never heard of him.. though it's sad when anyone dies but he had a long life.

..and our dreams will break the boundaries of our fears..
