Yea, I just read that on FoxNews and it's just stupid and sad. This is what's really upsetting: "Joshua did not act as though he felt there was anything wrong with this form of punishment," the police report said. That's from Fox. It seems like some people need a license to be a parent.

Wow, that's terrible. You should encourage your kid to learn them, not scare the life out of them with punishments to make them learn them. How he can say that he didn't see anything wrong with what he was doing is beyond me, it's a four year old girl, not some big guy who he's torturing for answers.

Fox isn't the most reliable news source But if he geniunely didn't see anything wrong with it, perhaps it says something about his psychological state? He's been in Iraq or Afganstan and perhaps did that? You'd hope that the army, the ones giving people guns to go fight in wars would keep a better check on the mental health of their soldiers. Regardless the kid should, and undoubtedly will (definately as there's publicity) get taken away, and the dad should be charged. But they should try to rehabilitate him. And if he was just being a nasty person, well he still needs rehabilitation to ensure he doesn't keep on like that.

As for the girlfriend, its totally possible he scared scared her too much? If he did that too the kid, he probably could be a scary guy. That and there's no proof she helped?

This is sad, the poor child. It's interesting that he has court ordered custody though, so the girl might just stay in the system. Even if he thought it was fine, it's wrong to torture anyone, especially a four year old child.

She whispered to her own reflection "I will be strong."

I wonder if he was always violent...Can PTSD do this? Never heard of it before but I could imagine it's possible.

Or, you know, he's just a **&^%#.

let me tell you why, i would die for you

Wow, some people are so deluded.
But on the other hand, if hes been in the Army and been to Iraq etc he might see this as an acceptable and efficient form of discipline. But for not being able to say your alphabet? No, thats going too far.
