Chilean Miners - October 13th 2010, 07:26 AM

So, we've all heard the story of the miners who are, were, trapped in a mine. And I'm sure many of us have forgotten about them, but it's been 69 days. Tonight they have finally started rescuing these men. As of right now, they have rescued five men, the other 28 will hopefully be coming up throughout today and tomorrow. It takes about an hour to get one miner out safely, slow yes, but it's safer. I've been watching it on livestream for about forty minutes. It's amazing and it's really, tear jerking and happy. Anyway, I just wanted to share this, because well it's just awesome. Hopefully they all make it out safely. And, here's one article on it if you want to read the story.

She whispered to her own reflection "I will be strong."

"I am not what has happened to me.I am what I have chosen to become."- Carl Jung

"If ye harm none, do as ye wish."

Sometimes things just happen.

Smile through the tears.

Hey Casey,

I'm really glad someone has made a post about this as I was watching some of the rescue on the news this morning and it was pretty emotional seeing some of the miners come to the surface and then be reunited with their families. It's crazy to think that they had been trapped down there for so long and they're all such strong people for getting through it all because I can't imagine what it must have been like for them all.

When we're lost in the madness, kindness is wisdom.

Re: Chilean Miners - October 13th 2010, 01:45 PM

I watched it for about 4 hours last night and I saw when the first man went down and the first miner came up. I just woke up and turned the telly on now and 12 miners have been rescued! I think it's so fantastic. One miner is being brought up now.

I think I might watch it until the end.

I've been watching all day and the last miner is out. I think it's so fantastic to watch.

Just the 4/5 rescuers to go now.

It's amazing that there's a happy ending to this story. Watching them all be reunited with their families is so touching.
