That's very, very sad.

But I don't see how the dog survived those shots?

Man that is very very odd...I dont see how the dog could have survived, I am guessing the vet gave the wrong dosage, thats not very good!

Well that's odd. It just, I dunno, seems fishy? Otherwise, sad that they have to put him down again I guess...

Did anyone else have fun reading the ridiculous comments below the article that people were posting?

the vet probably missed the vein/artery and injected into muscle.

Possibly. Or, the vet gave the wrong dosage and thus the shots acted only as an anesthetic. After all, anesthesia is essentially controlled euthanasia. Give too much anesthesia and you will send an animal into cardiac arrest.

This is incredibly sad. I cannot imagine having to put down my animal twice. I definitely think the vet should have been more studious in this situation, regardless of what went wrong.

That's sad

Personally, I would not have been able to put my dog down twice. Either she's a miracle dog, or the vet wasn't careful enough with dosages.

I doubt he gave the wrong dosage. Two shots seems like a standard he'd use whatever weight she was, so if he's using 12.5 ml syringes he can't really go wrong dose wise.

I couldn't bear to see an animal put down once, let alone twice.
I'm not against it because it was only done to ease her pain. But it must be so difficult for the family and I feel so sorry for the dog. <3

This must have been incredible difficult, for the family and the dog.

I remember a few years ago when my dog was put down, we buried her as soon as we got home. Reading this is absolutely chilling.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the [mome raths] outgrabe.
