Street view is almost useless. It's cool, but not useful. But it doesn't surprise me. With power comes corruption.

I dunno, it doesn't seem a huge deal, were people really affected by it? Yea its bad, but because they are so well known it seems that it is so much worse, people hack computers all the time, people hack multiple computers but you dont see articles about them.

The Daily Mail? Really?

Google have said it was a mistake, they didn't purposefully gather private information. And it isn't ''finally'', I heard their statement months ago about mistakenly collecting information.

Anyone stupid enough to not even put a password on their wi-fi deserves their info to be stolen IMO.

Can't even agree more.

... but it's the Daily Fail

I wouldn't say it's 'finally' either, it's been out for a while.

The Daily Mail isn't the most reliable source on the planet. It wasn't done on purpose, accidents happen.

She whispered to her own reflection "I will be strong."

"If ye harm none, do as ye wish."

Sometimes things just happen.

Seconded. Most configuration wizards prompt you to secure your network anyway so if you choose not to do so then on your head be it really. If a passing car can take that information from you then imagine what someone malicious could do. On second thoughts, perhaps don't...

However bleak things seem, however insurmountable the darkness appears, remember that you have worth and nothing can take that away.

BT is the largest Broadband provider in the country, and all their routers AUTOMATICALLY have a password on them, written on the back of it, which you can change. It's really not that hard, and if you don't, you're basically asking for info to be stolen.

I don't know about useless

I am horrible with maps, and extremely visual. I tend to look at the buildings and signs with street view and that's how I find my destination
