Court appears set to uphold Prop. 8 - March 6th 2009, 01:35 AM

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29536263

What does everyone think?

Personally, being a lesbian, I think the Supreme Court needs to overturn Prop 8. Why shouldn't I be allowed to marry wherever I want?

Prop 8 was a waste of time.

It needs to be repealed ASAP. It is disconcertingly similar to the Butler Act which took decades to be repealed

Religion needs to get it's head out of it's arse and look to the future. Unless of course there is a secular reason why prop 8 should not be overturned

Re: Court appears set to uphold Prop. 8 - March 6th 2009, 02:29 AM

The problem with prop 8 was that when gay marriage was first allowed in California it was done because someone said so. We didnít vote, one guy made the choice and because of that it angered a lot of people. I know a lot of people who voted for prop 8 just because they didnít like how this was handled. I voted against prop 8 because I feel that gay marriage should be allowed, and I donít care how it is allowed, just that it is.

I think it was a stupid idea to even have prop 8 in the first place. I don't see why people have to make a big deal about same sex marriages. It's love and people need to realize that nobody stopped to opposite sex couples to get marrieed.

Re: Court appears set to uphold Prop. 8 - March 6th 2009, 02:55 AM

The most frightening thought to me, is that if I meet a girl I love with all my heart, that I can't marry her. And it really pisses me off that people don't understand that. Let me put you with the person you love, and tell you that the government and majority of Americans don't find you worthy enough of being legally married.

Prop 8 outright upsets me. And I've made sure to do my best around here within my limits to get out the word. Many people don't care. So. Whatever.

Ugh, I hate Prop 8... Granted I realize the way it happened that gay marriage became legal was a bit controversial, but Judicial Review is a policy for a reason.

Of course I'm against Prop 8. Anyone who isn't against it needs to tell me why... If it's religion, then they deserve to be shanked in the knee... that was a bit harsh ....
