Monkeys Teach Their Young to Floss - March 13th 2009, 08:58 PM

Monkeys need clean teeth too. I'm actually very impressed and rather surprised that they can learn something like that.

Aww, that's cute. I wanna monkey, I hear they are awesome pets and easily trained, they just have a strong attachment to their owners/family aka, you can't go on vacation without them.

I don't agree with having wild animals for pets. I'm sure you've heard about the chimp attacks on people and how much damage they can do. You can take the animal out of the wild, but you can't take the wild out of the animal.

Bah! You can get the domesticated and small ones.

A monkey is still a monkey. Even if it is a small monkey they are still wild. Have you seen the teeth on those little guys? Dynamite comes in small packages.

And a dog is still a dog. All animals were wild once.

I wonder how long dogs have been domesticated in comparison to monkeys. By now, most of the kinks of having a dog as a pet have been worked out. There are a few bad apples but a monkey is essentially still a wild animal. They are classified as exotic and you can't even own them in some areas.

Yes and if we just say, "oh they are wild, lets just get a dog" then they will never become domesticated. I personally love exotics and am prepared to take care of them and their "non domesticness"
and really, if you think about it. Monkeys are as close at humans as it gets, they understand the nature of family and community, they are smart. A pet monkey will snap just as often as a dog will if taken care of correctly.

That's awesome and totally impressing. I didn't think they could learn things like that.
