The dawn of Robotics is upon us - March 16th 2009, 10:37 PM

Something I never thought I'd see in my lifetime ... a Robot that walks like a human. No wheels

If I saw her from a distance with clothes on, I'd honestly think that she was real. She really appears to be.

But why? What good does making artificial humans have?

To help in wartime without sacrificing lives, to perform duties that other would be perilous or unbecoming for other humans to... etc.

I think it's sort of creepy... but cool.

She's kind'a cute...

It's pretty cool, but I'm curious of how she would do on uneven surfaces.

But you could still make robots to do that that aren't artificial humans.

I find it wierd that they gave her breasts though lol I mean ok, she needs to look human ... but the breasts serve no function on a robot

although I guess saying that, you could argue that nipples serve no function for men lol

We'll be having sexual relations with them soon enough, just like in those Mangas/Animes.

This kind of thing always reminds me of that show The Outer Limits, I'm so sad that show was cancelled.

Just because men have nipples that serve no purpose does that mean we should get rid of them? You don't need your appendix, why not cut that off? Sometimes you have parts that are unnecessary. Breasts on a robot aren't really needed, but is the robot really needed at all? Might as well give this frilly project more thrills.

If we had robots built to do jobs that people didn't want to do, who would do those jobs? It could put some people out of work. There's bound to be someone who does something a little odd that is easily replaceable by a robot, yet he actually likes it.

I think this scares me a bit. Like somebody else said, think of I-robot. Yeah i know it is only a movie but it is still a horrible thought. If we kept doing things like this in the end we will be replacing ourselves with robotics. For example, using technological organs etc when ours no longer work. We are doing so much now with technology you can almost see a future with robots where we are no longer totally human. I am glad i probably won't be around for that. Sorry if this is a load of nonsense

Did they build her to send her back through time to kill John Connor?

Often I lie wide awake, thinking of things I could make.
But I donít seem to have the parts to build them.
I am so scared of what will kill me in the end, for I am not prepared.
I hope I will get the chance to be someone, to be human.

For aesthetic reasons, of course. Why do women get breat enhancements? Plastic double D's serve the same purpose as A's.

She doesn't actually look real to me, she just looks like a machine. This reminds me of A.I though, and I hated that movie.

She whispered to her own reflection "I will be strong."

"If ye harm none, do as ye wish."

Sometimes things just happen.
