Mother encouraged young girls to fight each other, then gets in on the fight herself

Ran across this on my news feed from Maury (yes, thee Maury from the talk show). After reading the article, I was disgusted by this. What are your thoughts?

That is really disgusting. As the article says, it's one thing to encourage them to fight but to then join in.. As a parent and an adult, she should at least be setting an example, not encouraging such things.

Sometimes the best way to settle a difference is with a little scrap, no reason to act like fighting is some "great evil", it's just direct competition. Although a 30 something old woman beating up a twelve year old child, that's a bit different, well the kid was being a bit of a spoil-sport, but don't have some adult punch them over it.

Sometimes a good fight can be productive, however, the mother's actions were not only unnecessary but pointless. By her actions, I mean the ones involving the by-stander girl as she posed little harm to stopping the fight. Her goal was to get other adults, which means the mother still had time to egg on the fight before other adults hopped in. However, it seems the mother was the one who truly wanted to fight, not just maintain a fight. Perhaps it was due to an adrenaline rush she assaulted the girl but if she's that volatile and explosive to resorting to violence on young kids, for me, it begs the question how she is with her own kid.

Ignoring the fact adults perhaps should avoid egging on fights between kids, she had no way to monitor the fight between the 2 girls. I would think that if one of them got badly hurt, she may go on a rampage on the other girl. I wouldn't mind so much if she was able to intervene to ensure the fight didn't get too ugly and not add herself into the fight. It's the sort of play-fights, where one person is an unofficial referee.

I'm all for a good clean fight but a 32 year old woman beating up a 12 year old girl is not a clean fight, it's disgusting, absolutely revolting.
