It definitely is true. Saw that same picture when I loaded Safari on my MacBook Pro. Such a sad way to pass. 56 is too young for anybody. </3 Also... this explains why he wasn't at the release for the new iPhone last night... What a shame.

Even though I heavily disagree with some of his tactics as of late (such as selling an overgrown iTouch), I can't deny that this kind of technology wouldn't be where it is today without him.

RIP.

Even if people dislike Apple they have to admit technology wouldn't be the same without him. He was amazing.

I found out last night whilst on Facebook on my iPod Touch in bed. That kind of says how much he has changed the world.

Re: R.I.P Steve Jobs - October 6th 2011, 04:52 PM

Sad news - in some respects he did well to survive seven years of pancreatic cancer, but even so 56 is no age these days. Much as I dislike certain aspects of his company's behaviour, not least its various patent wars with rivals which for me is abuse of intellectual property laws, you cannot deny the man's intellect and ability to judge market trends. I fear Apple's future will be more troubled without his presence.

RIP

Writing this on my MacBook.....

One of the greatest men of our time for technology and innovation. Apple and the world at large have lost something very valuable in Steve Jobs.

Meh, he wasn't that great as a person and I didn't like the ethics of his company, so his death doesn't mean any more to me than that of someone I've never heard of.

People should not be celebrating his death just because of products he made. Thats just ridiculous. I mean I don't like Apple personally, but I still think he did amazing things in his life and its sad that he died from cancer.

He may not have been the most agreeable of people, but you can't deny he was a genius. He singlehandedly revolutionized the whole computer industry. I was sorry to hear that he passed.

"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it.
I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote,
“Dear Jim: I loved your card.”
Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.”
That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything.
He saw it, he loved it, he ate it."
