Re: $39,000 Backpack - October 8th 2011, 12:09 AM

My mom was telling me about that this morning, actually. That's a ridiculous price for a BACKPACK. Not to mention it is ugly, and made out of alligator. That's just sad. I agree with the man on the news, why would anyone want to spend that much on a backpack? After spending that much on it (not that I would, especially because it's made of alligator), I'd be too scared to use it!

One of those things I'd never buy even if I were the richest guy...er...girl I guess, in the world. Would much rather give the money to charity. Progressive f-cking taxation, sorry, that just kinda...slipped out. And Anderson Cooper is very handsome...oh here I go again...I am actually straight...ugh

Just like people who spend 200,000 on a car it's stupid and pointless.

This was on the news this morning, completely ridiculous. I wouldn't pay that much for a bag if I had all the money in the world, call me a cheapskate. :P I also don't support wearing animals.

I imagine the people that buy that bag have more money then sense because it's ugly. It's sort of like the people who spend ridiculous amount of money on cars that they can't even take home with them and are only allowed to drive on certain tracks..

Wait till PETA hears about this, they'll start WW3.

Re: $39,000 Backpack - October 8th 2011, 06:33 PM

To me, a backpack is something you put your junk in, whether it be books you hate, shoes that smell like they've been lodged deep in an ass or your girlfriend's bra you're returning after she forgot it last night at the church. Backpacks are also going to be tossed around, I know I treat mine like hell and somehow it's managed to survive several years but has some holes in it.

If someone were to buy a backpack for $39,000, I cant imagine how they'd treat it. If someone has that much money to blow on pointless stuff, they may treat the bag like shit because it's replaceable and they have more money than common sense. That said, I think the bag looks quite nice and I'd be willing to get one but I wouldn't pay much more than $60-80. I'm sure I could find a bag that looks very similar for about that price anyway. It's not a concern to me that it's made from alligator skin, hell, if it were made from baby's tears I'd still wear it if I liked how it looked. Of course, this begs the question how I'd treat the bag and I'd probably treat it in a nicer way than I do with my current bag.

I can rip you off, and steal all your cash, suckerpunch you in the face, stand back and laugh. Leave you stranded as fast as a heart-attack.

I dunno, for one I prefer shoulder slung textbook bags over backpacks, and if I had 39,000 I would spend it on different stuff anyhow...

That being said, who cares. If someone has money to burn and wants to be crazy, who cares? At least it's stimulating the economey.
