oral can cause cancer -

so ive been hearing recently that oral sex can cause throat cancer. I never got the whole story tho. So dose anyone have more info on this?

There's enough reason to suggest HPV can be transferred through oral sex, which can then cause oral cancer. It's not a certainty or even a likelihood but the chance is there. There's no reason to suggest you can get cancer through oral sex without an STI being involved.

I agree with Barbara. you can't get cancer, but you can get STI's From Oral. Cancer is caused by cells behaving badly. They will only behave badly if they either have bad DNA code, or get a damaged code. You can damage the code either with A) Strong Radiation, or B) CERTAIN types of viruses. Even then, your body has lots of fail safes that prevent a run away growth spurt form happening. Nearly all of them have to fail in order for malignant (bad) cancer to happen.
As for Scott's microwave comment -_____- Microwaves are on the far end of the EM spectrum, Residentail microwaves have nowhere near the wattage to cause cellular damage, and that screen actually has smaller holes then the microwaves they emit. Oral tobacco use maybe? Dipping can definitely cause throat cancer. VD's for sure, cancer not so much.

As another poster already said, what doesn't seem to give you cancer? I believe there was already a thread about his awhile back in the Sex and Puberty Forum.
