Murray overtakes Federer to become world number 3 -

As happy as I am for him, I bloody wish he'd win a GS. He does so well in these tournaments, but I just can't help thinking it's because he hasn't had to go up against Djokovic (apart from that one time the Djoker dropped out due to injury). I hope this improved ranking gives him the confidence to stop moaning, stop getting angry, and just nail a GS. |

Yeah it's really cool for someone British to be up there... It would be interesting for him to play Djokovic especially now his rank has improved.
I'm guessing it would be a pretty even match if Murray is at his best. If not I can imagine Djokovic thrashing him in straight sets. Really depends on both their form on the day. But it brings hope that in a couple of years when Murray is like uber experienced, that he could be work number one And I would love to see that!Xxx When life gives you one thousand reasons to cry, show life one million reasons to SMILE! ![]() Because we all love pigs |

I think Djokovic would smash him. At the US Open (I THINK), he was playing Federer and Federer had him, he was so close to winning. Djokovic just brought it back. I was staring with awe, the guy is a machine. I really wish Murray would step it up, I think he has the potential to do it, but Djokovic has the confidence that even when you're just about to lose, you haven't lost yet. Murray just gives up.

Yeah... But hopefull the more that Murray wins the more that he'll learn and gain more confidence and be able to make better come backs and stuff
![]() Murray has so much potential and loads of time to make it shine through, he works hard (not that Djokovic doesn't) and I think he's determined enough to get there ![]() Xxx When life gives you one thousand reasons to cry, show life one million reasons to SMILE! ![]() Because we all love pigs |

Murray has the raw talent to win a Grand Slam, no doubt, but he really needs to work on his mentality when it comes to the crunch. More often than not he loses his temper, and as soon as you do that against the likes of Djokovic, Nadal and Federer the game slips out of your hands. There have been a few occasions as well where, like you say, he has given up. It'll be interesting to see if Djokovic will be a long-term contender - seasons like this are very hard to repeat - but certainly Murray needs to work on his game if he's going to get a Grand Slam. Hopefully he will.
