The man who remembers everything. - March 24th 2009, 11:41 PM

Bob Petrella, a television producer, can recall almost everything he's ever done since the age of five.

Quote:
The 58-year-old from Los Angeles, USA, remembers up to half the days of his own life in shockingly vivid detail.
It was only when he put himself forward for a study about memory taking place at the University of California last year, that Bob's remarkable abilities became known to scientists.
Quote:
Mr Petrella, said: "I always had this amazing memory but I never liked to advertise it or boast to strangers.
Quote:
"A lot of people would panic if they lost their phone because they have all these numbers stored in there.
"But didn't have any numbers in my cell phone because I have them stored in my head."
Quote:
He can recall who won the main Oscar prizes every year since he began watching the ceremony in 1971.
Mr Petrella can tell you the day and date O.J was acquitted and what the score was in the Steelers Vs Dallas football game on August 31 1997.
"It was 37-7," he said without hesitation. "It was a Sunday."
Quote:
Doctors tested him with 60 questions that only those with super memory have a chance of answering.
Among the questions were: "What was the date and the location of the Palestinian guerillas' killing of Israeli athletes?" to which Mr Petrella replied correctly: "Munich, September 5, 1972."
Pretty impressive. I wish i could do that.

I'd have to disagree, I'd hate to remember everything, sure facts and figures are OK but what about things you'd rather forget like being dumped or cheated on?

That's a world event. A lot of people could get that particular question

That's quite scary. If I'm honest I'd love to have a memory like that ... it would make school a lot easier And I'd know how to drive !

Sometimes it's better to forget how you feel
and remember what you deserve

It would make things easier, but there are a lot of things from my past that I have blocked out because it is better to not remember. I'm sure he had things he would care to forget.

I'd deal with it. I'd rather take that ability to remember everything. It would make me not forget who is the bitch who did me an injustice.

Yeah, exactly, you'd never forget all the people who srewed you over in the past. I'd deal with having to remember the horrible stuff to have the ability to remember all the good stuff too :]

It's probable that you'll remember cheating and break-ups for a long time anyway, and yes, that question was too easy (I know what and when the Munich incident was). However, that would be extremely useful if I lose my wallet again.
