Very lucky indeed that no one was hurt, and a very effective demonstration as to why experiments like these are best undertaken in areas with a lot of wide open space. That said, the attitude of those involved with the programme in response to the incident and the damage it caused is commendable and quite refreshing really.

It's terrible. I live in Livermore, and Dublin is just down the road from me. My friend took a picture of where the cannonball hit the ground after going through the house and into a car. While the picture is pretty funny, it's pretty terrible to know that people where inches away from being hit by the projectile. I doubt the Alameda County Sheriffs Department will let them use the Bomb Disposal Range again.
