World Class - Letters to change the world (BBC feature) - January 24th 2012, 09:39 PM

Thought I'd share this with the forum, as I think it shows an interesting range of viewpoints:

Thoughts?

Lots of interesting viewpoints. I agree with quite a few of them. I admit I didn't read the whole thing, but I find it awesome that they got so many different people from so many different walks of life.

What's your opinion on the article/ show/ topic?

I guess I did walk into having that question asked really. I think it's a worthwhile concept to have - admittedly it only provides a snapshot based on the available respondents (and participating schools) but I think anything which promotes greater understanding of both close and distant neighbours is a good thing to do. Far too many of the world's ills are caused by basic ignorance of what is going on around us, or how others view the world, and it's something which we can so easily correct with things like this.

On a separate note, the points of view from Libya were very interesting to read - considering the upheaval their country has been through, some of the respondents had a very strong sense of perspective and it's something people from the West could probably learn from at times.
