Politics News: Current US President Barack Obama Appeared on Google+ Hangout Last Night (Jan. 30) - January 31st 2012, 02:00 PM

Well, okay, not much of a news to those who live in the USA; pretty much everyone here know about this. So what do you think of this creative move? Which part do you like? Which part do you dislike? Let us hear your opinion!

In case you aren't living in the US, last night (Jan. 30, 2012) at 5:00 EST, current US President Barack Obama appeared on Google+ Hangout** and had a "casual" interview with several people. It was arguably the most interesting interview a US President ever did in history.

============================================

If you've missed it, then you can still watch the YouTube video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeTj5qMGTAI

And here's the White House's G+ profile: https://plus.google.com/u/0/105479712798762608629/

For me, I was a little disappointed. Most of us weren't able to actually join the hangout; we were only able to watch other people "hang out" with the President. It was still much more awesome than a TV interview though.

Also, he dodged many controversial questions, rather than answering them. From a political point of view, that wasn't a bad move. However, from a citizen's point of view, I would rather hear his stand on those topics.

If it was as boring as that YouTube Questionnaire from yesterday, we didn't miss much.

Often I lie wide awake, thinking of things I could make.
But I don’t seem to have the parts to build them.
I am so scared of what will kill me in the end, for I am not prepared.
I hope I will get the chance to be someone, to be human.

Nobody missed much at all. The content of the interview itself sucked!

However, I like the way he delivered it: via a web app instead of the traditional TV. I don't know who thought of this idea, but utilizing a new and more casual medium besides the traditional TV broadcast is very interesting. I wonder whether this would trigger a new trend in the near future

And this thread didn't mean to invoke any political discussion either. Hence, I asked what people think of this "creative move," not what they think of the interview. I don't care about the interview; I care more about the method he used (in this case, ditched the ancient TV broadcast and go straight to the cloud with a web-based video group chat app).

I think the method is very new wave-ish and obviously intended to attract a younger crowd. Sadly, Goodle+ hangout isn't all that popular where I live, the Midwest United States. So no, I actually hadn't heard about this.

Take me seriously.
I dare you.
