Religious Crush part 2! - April 24th 2013, 03:33 PM

Hey guys I'm back! It's been almost a year since I was on here and this time I have yet another problem.

My NEW crush is also slightly religious. I've come to terms with the fact that no matter what I used to think, religion [i]does[i] take a back seat to friendship. However, my current crush is Jewish. One of my best friends is Jewish and we always joke around about me being an atheist. It's all good though, we're totally chill.

At any rate, I this new girl that I like (Abby) is really nice. She's smart, not really "funny" per se but not like a zombie or anything, she just doesn't make any jokes. She's pretty rational and even though she eats kosher for now we've talked and she says one day when she's older she'll probably eat some pork (I recommended bacon!) or something else. I think a tiny part of her realizes the absurdity of religion but she sticks with it for her family. No, it's not wishful thinking, of this I am sure.
Here's the biggest problem: HER DAD IS A RABBI. Like, wow. What am I even supposed to do??

This is kind of a combo post, if that's ok. (In case anyone remembers my other post and wants a follow up, I eventually went out with my first religious crush and it didn't really work out but it wasn't for religious reasons.)
Thing is, I really don't want it to end up like my first girlfriend. (It's weird saying that) We just kinda lost interest and it was COMPLETELY mutual. Again, it's not wishful thinking. (I called her to break up with her but she said she wanted to go first so technically I got dumped :/)

And I've also said in another post how I am worried I will get a new crush since I tend to do that, and although I know/ am pretty sure it will happen, when I am crushing on someone as I am now I am too irrational and hopeful to stop. Do you know what I mean?

Anyway. Sorry for the long post, again, if you feel like relocating my post go ahead because I'm really bad at this...

Thanks in advance!

Yeah this really belongs in Relationships/Dating. This forum is more for debating the merits of religion, ethics, etc.

You can find my kind living right on the fault line, eyes on the seaside, lives on the B-side, kites on the power lines.
