well in the Jewish religion I was taught in school that the biblical father Abraham got himself circumcised when he was 99 years old and he suffered a lot from it but since then boys were circumcised as babies because it wasn't as painful. It's done to Jewish boys when they're 8 days old, and it's tradition after Abraham did it who was commanded by god.

It's very common for Americans to circumcise their boys shortly after birth, regardless of religious affiliation. It's something I personally don't understand. I don't practice a religion that mandates it and the health benefits and std risks are not relevant in modern hygiene and contraception use.
I won't be circumcising any future sons that I may have.
