Re: Your Religious and/or Spiritual Beliefs -

While my family is basically all either Catholic or Lutherine (depending on which side of the family you talk to) and going to a Catholic school for nine years I am a pagan. It's usually hard to explain to others because a lot of people around me are fairly religious as well as having the small town narrow mindedness of there's no such thing as pagans anymore which is of course rediculous...

I'm pretty sure i'm atheist. I used to be Christian then i was agnostic but we're studying the whole debate in school at the moment and apparently i'm a negative atheist because i don't believe in God but i accept the possiblity that i could be wrong

I was born into a family of Latter Day Saints (aka Mormons, a type of Christianity). However, I do not subscribe to all of their beliefs. This quote captures my feelings on the topic perfectly:
“God is love. I don’t think He cares about religion one little bit. Live your life right. Love with all your heart. Don’t hurt others, and help those in need. That’s all you need to know. And don’t worry about Heaven. If it exists, you’ll be welcome.”

I choose other. I classify myself as 'Independent'. I just simply study world religions and take what morals and ideas I like from other religions and form it all into my own independent religion. I do not try to change peoples beliefs since I don't want people to bother me about mine. I will say no more.

I'm a weak atheist but I hate that term. Lol. Weak atheism, for those who don't know, is when you don't believe in God but you don't say got doesn't exist. God might exist, how would I know???? I don't believe but I don't bash others. I also have some Buddhist beliefs. I just like the way they look at life and happiness.
Out of the ashes I'm burning like a fire. You can save your apologies, you're nothing but a liar. I've got shame, I've got scars that I will never show. I'm a survivor in more ways than you know. 'Cause all the pain and the truth, I wear like a battle wound. So ashamed, so confused, I was broken and bruised. Now I'm a warrior.

I said "atheist" and "other" because I do not believe in a God or higher power in the traditional sense (as it never really made sense to me), but I do believe that in a way the concepts of peace, love, and friendship ARE higher powers because they are, for all intents and purposes, essentially out of our capability of understanding. I mean...we know what they ARE, but the bond that they create is almost indescribable in a sense. So in a way, I suppose you could say that my deities are the concepts of peace, love, and friendship.

I am Jewish. I was raised in a Jewish home, that practices the Jewish customs and I was sent to a Jewish day school for all of grade school. I may be very lost in life right now, but what I do know is, thanks to my Jewish youth group, is what my Jewish identity is and where I stand in the Jewish community.

I, like allot on this site, which I'm slowly seeing more and more in my life, am an Atheist. I've seen allot of wrong in my life, more wrong then I'll ever see right. I was born into a catholic home, Went to church as a kid and was baptized/received communion/confirmation, But sense then my personal beliefs have changed. I have very strong beliefs against the catholic religion now, but would never try taking someone from their own personal beliefs.

Now I don't know what exactly to define as my religion . I have been raised with both Hindu and Punjabi/Sikh values. My mother believes in both of them so. And I love going to Church and all. So I guess its really a mix with me practicing anything I like about all these religions. But majorly I am Punjabi/Sikh

I was born and raised Catholic and also am a practicing Catholic to this day but there are many things involving the Catholic church that I disagree with.
I've been through hell and back and came out stronger than ever.

This question isn't primarily directed at you, but Because you happened to post about it... How would one, in the states I suppose, Explore religions such as this? I have much interest in religion, but nothing has been more real then Atheism to me so far. I have a very open mind when it comes to anything aside from christianity. And Middle Eastern/Asian Religions Interest me allot to learn about, I just don't know anyone. I could read, but allot of times reading about a religion opens up more confusion to me because I obtain so many questions!

I'm an Orthodox Christian. I was not really raised as one. There are some traditions and beliefs I was raised to know, but nothing really strict.
Truth is, I want to have a strong religion. I really believe in Him. Problem is that for people around me, in my country, believing is more like something to laugh at. In my country religion, mostly Christianity, was illegal for about 50 years and I'm part of the first generation that was allowed to believe in anything we want. The ones who were supposed to teach us - they didn't know God and the Bible, didn't know how to pray, they knew "religion" to be a dirty word.
Considering what I've said, I'm a Christian and I want to be a Christian, but maybe I'm not mature enough for it, since I feel it's easier to be Christian disguised as an Atheist.

I'm an atheist because I believe a loving God (as my devoutly Christian mother depicts he/she) would not let someone be abused, hurt, or bullied- by themselves or anyone else.

I selected Atheist and Agnostic. I have no idea who created the first substance of DNA or organic materials, is it fusion of elements in black matter/space? What is it?
Yet I don't believe in a deity. (God, Allah, Spirits)
If anything, I am closer to the Atheist side, however.

I'm a Christian and I do not really have a set denomination. I like being nondenominational.
I also have noticed that parents forcing religion does nothing positive for their children, it just makes them fall away from the religion. If I were a parent, I would let my child have the choice to attend or not attend church because forcing something on someone is never a good thing no matter the good that is intended.
