Unhappy religon issue - August 16th 2011, 02:06 AM

i didn't notice any religous topics.
i don't follow the same religion as my parents and my dad wants me to go to church and when i go i'm just bored.
what should i do! if i tell them my religion i'll alienate my dad but my mom probably wouldn't care.

You should sit down and talk to your parents about their religion and your personal beliefs. You are free to believe what you want to believe and practice what you want to practice. Hopefully your parents, well your dad at the least, realize that you are an independent individual, are growing up, and are free to be the person you want to be.

Now that we're here, it's so far away
All the struggle we thought was in vain
An' all the mistakes one life contained
They all finally start to go away

How can I be lost?
If I've got nowhere to go?

I totally agree with The poster above. Talk to your parents about this. If your father wants you to go to church, and you don't enjoy it or believe in that religion, you should talk to him and explain this. He may take it better than you think, in which case; yay!

There is religion forum down near the bottom of the support forums page, by the way, just for future reference.
Take care!
Hollie.

If you don't see a benefit in going to church, then don't go.

Hey! I definitely agree with the first two people that responded to this. You have the right to believe what you want to!! I'm a Christian myself, but my parents aren't. It took me ages to get them to let me go to church and let me take part in ministries, but when I finally sat down and talked to them about it, they were more open to the idea. Just tell your dad exactly what you're thinking. Everyone deserves to find a religion that they truly believe in. If your heart isn't in it, it's a waste of your time.

By the way, I feel like I rambled quite a bit in that. If I did, I'm really sorry!
