Lightbulb The four agreements to live by - October 30th 2011, 08:53 AM

The four agreements is written by a man name Miguel Ruiz, I first stumbled upon these from a classmate
in my communication class. I started living my life by these agreements and they have proved wonders.
I'm going to pass them on to you guys hoping you can make these four agreements with yourselves.

1. Be Impeccable With Your Word
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to
gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

2. Don't Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their
own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of
needless suffering.

3. Don't Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as
clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama.

4. Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed
to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

Number three is my favorite because I struggle with that one the most. I always seem to make assumptions about things that probably aren't what I assume they are. These are all good things to live by. Thanks for sharing this with us!

I was looking for a breath of life
For a little touch of heavenly light
But all the choirs in my head say, no oh oh

“If others tell us something we make assumptions, and if they don't tell us something we make assumptions to fulfill our need to know and to replace the need to communicate. Even if we hear something and we don't understand we make assumptions about what it means and then believe the assumptions. We make all sorts of assumptions because we don't have the courage to ask questions.”

I have the hardest time with that one to since it is so easy to assume, but no one can stop you from asking questions , glad you like them.
