Triggering: i got a word of wisdom

Okay im not quite sure if this goes here so mods feel free to move it.

okay so this year i turned to God, that sounds weird but you know what i mean.
Through God i've gotten through alot more then what i could of otherwise. but recently i shut Church/God out and withdrew into myself, ending up smoking, cutting, force spewing and all my old habits.

Well i got bad last night and i called a friend, she prayed for me and i got the name Corinthians and the number 32 in my head. i told my friend and we tried to work it out. i've never read corinthians or been able to say it but i did.. i worked out 16:14 equals 32 so i looked it up and this is what i got

1Corinthians 16:14
Do everything in love

For me that yelled, no screamed at me to stop and look at myself, and how i treat myself. Cutting, smoking, not eating, its harming myself, killing myself, which obviously is NOT a loving thing to do.

So as of today i QUIT SMOKING i shall not turn to cutting when things get hard, nor will i take it out on others.

As of today i am going to learn to love myself and to love others.

This was what ive been praying for, something to show me a way out, and this may just be the start of it.

That's great! You did the right thing by calling another Christian friend and letting her help you. God gave us friends to uplift us when we are tempted to fall away from Him.

Remember to rely on God to help you rather than relying on yourself- He is much more able than you are. One verse that helped me a lot that might help you is "God does not change like a shifting shadow" (James 1:17). This helps me to remember that no matter what situation I am in, I can still go to God because He is exactly the same as He was when I was happy. Another verse that goes along with that is 2 Samuel 22:2, which mentions that "The LORD is my rock"....rock= firm and unmoving/unchanging.

I honestly didn't even think about it until you said that.

But the point of this thread, is that she was led to this bible verse....reguardless of how. God can use miscounting just as much as He can use anything else.
