I've never really been one for praying. Most problems are easier solved by man, without bothering God. But...
Well someone who I've known for a long time is sick. It's been seven years already. He was the instructor at the Tae-Kwon-Do dojo I went to. Then a year after it closed he started working with my dad. Tonight he phoned saying he has cancer. He hasn't told his family yet. It's important to know that prayer isn't always about getting something fixed or taken care of. Sometimes, it's just about hoping. It doesn't even have to be to a deity, but it's something you can just put out there in the universe. And while it may not take away your friend's cancer, it can give you something to hang on to, when dealing with an issue that is terrifying and outside of your power. I'll be hoping he recovers. I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm not religious, but please know that my thoughts and love go out to your friend and to you at this time. I truly hope that he will find the strength and support that he needs to go through this journey, and that he can make a recovery soon.

Prayer won't do much for him. If prayer worked there'd be no point to a divine plan, and that's religion's crutch when it comes to explaining a lot of bad in this world that doesn't seem to be able to be prayed away.
I do however truly and sincerely hope he gets better. My aunt has had to deal with cancer twice now (she's okay in case anyone was wondering). If you need a shoulder to lean on, feel free to PM me, Justin.
