Shucks - April 2nd 2012, 04:22 PM

I'm going to hell, and it feels great. Who's coming with me? I've always wanted to meet C. Hitch

(Before anyone gets all bent out of shape, I'm just expressing my feeling of freedom from the fact that I don't need to kiss celestial ass. Despite being constantly told I'm going to hell for various reasons, I just don't even care, I've got freedom.)

On a more philosophical note I've always had this complete dread of being forgotten and having no impact on anything during my lifetime, and my cynical view of the world and lack of belief often made it hard, but I wasn't going to use religion as a crutch just to take away a feeling of emptiness, because I sincerely cannot buy into it. I am agnostic, so that isn't to say I know anything for sure, for all I know I'm wrong, but I don't care.

I did recently realize that every single thing I do, simply being here has an impact on the world, and rather large ones when/if you take the "butterfly effect" into account. And the world will forever have my fingerprint somewhere on it, no matter how small and insignificant we are in comparison to the rest of the universe.

Sorry for pointless rant, argue all you want I won't be checking this thread again because I know some people just need to force their opinions down throats, and that's fine, I just don't want any part of it. <3 all, you are all fantastic, even the ones I disagree with.

Self pity will not rescue you.
Sometimes we have to save our own lives,
not because no one else cares, but because no one else can.

Life for you has been less than kind
So take a number, stand in line
We've all been sorry, we've all been hurt
But how we survive is what makes us who we are.

Dreamed up the maps, give me the charcoal and the paper
We invent paths they cannot see, and they're too scared to walk

Only after disaster can we be resurrected. It's only after you've lost everything that you are free to do anything.
