Poem 4 - August 5th 2012, 06:47 PM

Sister ladies Fortune and Fate,
We pray to you in hour of late.
We ask you sisters to lessen the blow,
For our crimes there are, much bigger foe.
In return we give, a life full of light,
And leave behind, bitter dark night.
Also in penance of our dark deeds,
We pledge to help others, with our divine needs.
So sister ladies Fortune and Fate,
We ask you now, to help clear our slate.
In good names of saints, gods divine,
We thank you for lives intertwine.
In first-light of dawn we say farewell,
Having faith for morn, our fears doth quell.

Why should we listen, to your glistening prayer?
It is not to us, you pray for your care.
Fear not child, your prayer is heard,
But riddle me this, why now, what turned?
Sister Fate, I ask you,
Do you see what we should do?
Sister Fortune, I cannot lie,
I cannot tell which tears would cry.
Several paths these lives could take,
That of turtle, hare or snake.
I cannot tell which winding road,
But each leads to the same abode.
I suppose it matters not, which path to walk,
It is to include us in their talk.
Sister Fate, I tend to agree,
Let them have a moment of glee.
Thank you sisters, Fortune and Fate,
For hearing our words and clearing our slate.
Be warned child, we came with a price,
We grant your wish, later we take device.
Rejoice for now, keep spirit light,
We come back to you when time is right.

I really like this! You did good with rhyming and using word choice here. I liked your uses of Sister Fate and Sister Fortune.

I agree with Dez, the rhyming was great. My poetry is all free verse because I can't rhyme to save my life.

This is a really great poem, keep on writing!
